Portraits of students at the Rudolf Steiner Institute Institut

"Why are you training at the Rudolf Steiner Institute?"

We asked a lot of students this question and our art teacher Bernhard Rüffert photographed them in the process.
On this page they say something about how they got wind of the Rudolf Steiner Institute and different motivations brought them here from all over the world.

The following students are all third year students in the educator training programme and are putting what they have learned at the institute into practice. They all have in common that they come from different countries and cultural backgrounds.

Emmacutate Ochiang
21 years old, was born in Nairobi, Kenya
She is a third year student in the educator training programme, the hird year being dedicated to practical training.

"During a year of voluntary work I had a job in a home for children with special needs in Lauterbad.
I liked taking care of children according to Waldorf principles and it inspired me to continue working with children with special needs in my home country. That's why I decided to do this training..."

Ita Palupi (Indonesia)

One day a friend visited me. I told her that I wanted to know something about Anthroposophy. She said immediately: Just go to Kassel, to the Rudolf Steiner Institute. Plus the degrees are state recognized!
So, I've been here since then...

Raoni Hipolito Silva (Brazil)

The voice of destiny called me and I answered.
I'm coming lol lol…

Marina Waldas (Russia)

Mainly I wanted to live in Germany, because some of my ancestors are German. I was very interested in seeing their home country. After some time in Germany, the wish to train as an educator developed. I heard of the RSI in Kassel and was very excited and impressed, as educational theory was new to me.

Tamilla Odinaeva (Uzbekistan)

I first heard about Waldorf education in Germany. It was a coincidence that I did an internship at a Waldorf kindergarten in Heidelberg because a friend had recommended it to me. Waldorf education immediately caught my interest, so I decided to train at the RSI: I don't regret the decision to come to Kassel.
